1. Enroll in the course

A state approved, self paced online course for the combined life and health license. Modules have quizzes and the course ends with its own exam.

2. Start your fingerprints and application

Get fingerprinted and submit your license application through NIPR. Start this right away. The background check runs while you study, so it doesn't hold you up later.

3. Finish the course and book your exam

Required hours depend on your state. Book your exam date before you finish so you test while it's fresh.

4. Pass the state exam

Exams are run by Pearson VUE or PSI, at a test center or sometimes online with a proctor. If it doesn't go your way, you can retake it.

5. Book your interview

After you text PASSED, you'll get a link to book your 15 minute interview. Carrier contracting usually takes two to four weeks, and you'll do the five day pre dial training in that window.
